I spent the day volunteering on a build site for #habitatforhumanity and I think I’m hooked. I’ll be back again in two weeks as a new build begins.

There’s not been a lot of knitting time lately. With an unplanned cold, dreary day it felt like a good time to sit down with needles and yarn and work a while. #knitting #knittersgonnaknit

Someone has been doing a little rebranding. Coffee & Wool has become Little Brown Mouse Fiberworks.

Saturday #spinning

I couldn’t keep my hands off of it. So that first good skein of handspun knitted up nicely into a cowl yesterday.

The first “useable” skein of yarn is complete. It’s measuring out at a light worsted, a few yards are definitely DK weight but overall I’m really happy with this one at less than a month of #spinning This one is destined to be a little cowl after I finish up a couple of other #knitting projects. #schachtladybug #spinningwheel

I’m not showing the attempts in between that first rough bit of yarn I made the other day and today’s spinning session. Something just clicked and holy crap! I’m getting a smooth, consistent, thin single going. #schachtladybug #spinningwheel #homespun

Good ole dye transfer. It’s coming off of a very intense purple yarn. #knitting #knittingproblems

Last night I begun learning how to spin, after a couple of hours of trying to get the feel for it and started pulling a fairly consistent single. Tonight not to bad, but I went ahead and plied off what I had. It may range from fingering weight to bulky but for a first attempt. I’m proud. #spinningwheel #spinnersofinstagram #homespunyarn
